Today we’d like to introduce you to Doug and Chris Miles.

Doug and Chris, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
The Miles family has always been around the flag business. My brother owned a flag store in Clawson, Michigan and when I was 24, he offered me the opportunity to move to South Florida and run my own flag store. I quickly jumped on it. Once in South Florida, I met my now wife Chris and we embarked on our adventure together. Now, in 2018 we are celebrating Flagcraft’s 50th year of business. The times have changed and we continue to strive to evolve with them. Owning a company that encompasses a retail location as well as a service industry comes with it’s challenges. We have grown the company from simply a flag retailer to custom flags, flagpoles and mailboxes. We are proud of the company we have nurtured daily into the business it is today.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
A lot of our business journey has been filled with growth and success. However, the 2007/2008 recession really hit our business hard. As well, the newest challenge is keeping up with the ever changing online marketplace.

Flagcraft – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a proud family owned, small business. Our bread and butter is the flag and flagpole industry. We sell American, international, state, nautical, sport, decorative and custom flags. We supply, install and service residential and commercial flagpoles. As well as, we fabricate and install residential mailboxes. Our vast knowledge and customer service is what keeps us ahead of the competition. Being a small business owned and operated by real people, makes the customer feel better about their purchase. Our pride comes naturally as it is very special to ignite American pride in the community around us. Our flag family is large and the presence is felt everyday throughout our company.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
By far, the most impressionable and proudest moment of our career has been our response following September 11th, 2001. The influx of customers needing a flag was out of this world. All of our manufacturers were overwhelmed with orders. However, we worked diligently until we fulfilled every order and got every Patriot that came in, the items they needed to support our nation in a moment of crisis.

This is an amazing family and an amazing company. Supporting our business for over 30 years.

Online retailers don’t care about you or your business. Flagcraft stands with you and behind its products, services and business.

I can’t say enough about this company.
